This week's WWE Smackdown took place at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, showcasing the aftermath of the recent Summerslam event. The show featured prominent wrestlers such as John Cena, Logan Paul, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, R-Truth, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss.
Following the initial matches, Charlotte Flair approached Alexa Bliss backstage, revealing plans for a surprise gift to celebrate Bliss's birthday later that evening. The two newly crowned WWE Women’s Tag Champions then held a Championship Celebration in the ring, coinciding with Bliss's special day.
A cake was presented in the ring, adorned with the message: “Congratulations Charlotte! – Alexa”. Flair humorously presented this as a birthday gift for Bliss, alongside a doll named 'Charlie', reminiscent of the Lilly Doll that Flair had previously destroyed after defeating Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship.
Match Highlights: Charlotte Flair vs. Chelsea Green
Flair expressed her desire for a hug from Bliss to showcase their friendship to the audience. However, the moment was interrupted by Chelsea Green and her allies, Piper Niven and Alba Fyre, who claimed that Montreal should be celebrating Green's return instead.
In an impromptu match, Flair faced off against Chelsea Green. During the bout, Niven and Fyre attempted to disrupt the celebration by seizing Bliss's birthday cake. Green tried to execute a move into the cake, but Flair countered, sending Green crashing face-first into it.
With cake smeared on her face, Green was forced to submit to Flair's Figure-Eight Leglock, securing Flair's victory. Bliss contributed to the match by taking out both Niven and Fyre with a daring dive from the apron. Flair and Bliss had recently won the tag titles from Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez at Summerslam.
